Our Miracle of the week!

I had been searching high and low for file folders.  A teacher needs file folders.  None left from the supply we had brought from home.  It was thought that some could be found in Port-au-Prince - nada!

I had begun to obsess, so decided not to think about them any more.   We would get some when we went home in July.

Enter into this scenario - a medical team from Indiana and Colorado.   In their gear, a package from former student Faith Rosenberger Castillo, now married, living in Indianapolis and attending church with one of the team members.

Faith had had a dream that I needed file folders.  Each time she tried to negate the idea of sending some to me, she had a bad feeling.

She decided to send the file folders with her friend, not knowing why.

It was so much fun to tell her!

Missionary Sabbath Week and BEing

April 2-6 is Missionary Sabbath on the calendar.  Things around here slow to a halt as the week progresses - no teams scheduled, regular work slows.  Intentional time to put things aside and focus on the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A good idea.

It's easy for things get much too busy on the mission field.  I hear the laments of missionaries, that they need to refocus and not to stay so busy doing; but, rather, just to spend time being.  Typical Mary/Martha challenge!  Need to spend time with the Lord FIRST - instead of in carved out, if-there-is-time time, after the fact.

I marvel - it's just like in the States.  Stuff happens here, just like stuff happens there!

Missionary Sabbath provides to us the time to stop and take stock.  The time for the "RE-ing":  RE-focusing on the Lord and His love and sacrifice for us; RE-committing to time with Him; RE-turning to our first love;  RE-prioritizing; RE-birthing.

"Being" time.

Grateful.

Bon fet Pak - Happy Easter!
